DCF will help by establishing the Gift agreements with the University and ensuring that the University is living up to the spirit of the donor’s gift, and preserving the donor’s intent in setting up the Faculty Position.
Establish a Contract Professorship for a duration of 3 to 5 years
A Contract Professorship provides an appointment for a Professor for a specific duration, after which it expires. If additional funding becomes available, the contract position may be extended or even turned into an endowed Chair in course of time.
- Funding Level required to set up a 3 Year Contract Faculty Position = $450,000
- Funding Level required to set up a 4 Year Contract Faculty Position = $600,000
- Funding Level required to set up a 5 year Contract Faculty Position = $750,000
Establish a Visiting Professorship
If you are interested in funding a visiting professor for a period of 1, 2 or 3 years, DCF will help you set up the Visiting Faculty Position, at a specific University.
- Funding Level required to set up a 1 Year Visiting Faculty Position = $150,000
- Funding Level required to set up a 2 Year Visiting Faculty Position = $300,000
- Funding Level required to set up a 3 year Visiting Faculty Position = $450,000
- Note that the level of funding may actually vary depending upon the seniority of the Scholar who is intended to occupy the position. The funding usually will provide for the salary and benefits of the Professor who occupies the position and also for some travel, conference and research activities.
Support the delivery of adjunct Courses related to Dharma studies, Courses and Programs
being taught by adjunct faculty at various universities.
- Funding required to support one course for one semester = $10,000 – $12,000. The funding level required varies with the seniority of the Professor who will be teaching the Course.
- Funding required to support one course per semester for one year = $25,000
Establish an Endowed Chair of your Choice
If you are interested in setting up a Chair in your own name or in the name of a family member or other name of your choice, DCF will help you set up the chair at a specific University.
