Dr. Yelloji-Rao Mirajkar is originally from Shivamogga, Karnataka, studied at Mysore University (MSc), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (MSc.Engg and Ph.D.), and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Columbia University, New York, USA.  Dr. Yelloji-Rao Mirajkar worked in Research and Development – Global Technology Center, Colgate-Palmolive Company, the USA for 25 Years and took retirement in 2019. His areas of research are Physical Chemistry – Solution, Surface, and Colloidal while having expertise in Drug Delivery and delivery of actives, flavors, and fragrances from consumer products. 

All along in his professional career, he focussed on three pillars of research, i.e. innovation, development of new and novel methods, and developing cost-effective formulations without compromising the quality and the performance.

To his credit, he has several patents and some of them have translated into commercial products. He has received awards from the company as well as from the agencies in the consumer products. The Royal Belgian Committee Award for Distribution Sector and its Journal Distribution described them as the most innovative, best performers and satisfied consumers by meeting their expectations with regard to novelty and quality.

Yelloji-Rao is Global Convenor for Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Forum (GIST), USA. GIST is a forum that is aimed to provide a platform for meeting solutions and problems involving the Indian Diaspora and the various bodies from India for the Development of Bharat.
He is also a Member of the Board of Overseers, Hindu University of America, USA. Hindu University of America seeks to nurture in its students a life-long love for learning and a quest to live a life in harmony with the world, that aligns their pursuit of critical thought and academic excellence with spiritual insight and inner development. He was former Executive Director and current member in the National Team of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA, and served on its board as Board-of-Director for several years.  Post retirement, he is managing a Venture Capital company, that is formed with a foundational charitable purpose to deliver a substantial amount of the capital gains accruing from the investment into one or more Non-Profit
